This photograph was taken on a magical beach in Dorset where I spent many happy hours with an acupuncturist friend (also a firm believer in Jung’s concept of the shadow). As we paddled idly along the water’s edge talking about self development in general, I happened to say that I felt I had at last immerged from the ocean and was no longer the metaphorical mermaid, when to my utter astonishment, this mermaids head, complete with trailing hair, washed in… My friend was equally entranced at such a speedy confirmation of my musings, and we couldn’t help but marvel at how such natural magic works.
