A treasure from the deep.

This goblet or grail that I created at the start of my journey represented my longing for the kind of erotic passionate love of soul mates more akin to a sacred heavenly union, rather than anything of this earth, though I did not realise it at the time. Indeed the divine breath it held suspended around it, so glittering and be-jewelled in its beauty, could have been the promise of the mystical marriage I experienced much later on my quest….
In symbolic terms, the Holy Grail is said to be the cup used at the Last Supper. Later, in medieval times, it became linked with Celtic literature and tales of chivalry. Long associated with supernatural powers and the hermetic tradition, it is also known as the magic cauldron, the key to immortality, and the stone that fell from Heaven. For those who come to know its mysteries, it is said to grant eternal life and youth.
