It is said that we do not choose alchemy,that it chooses us, and is very much dependent on our astro chart. However, I prefer to think that the hermetic path to enlightenment and knosis is open to all. Most especially as it is such a simple process, quite literally one just follows ones heart, though a little imagination, trust, and courage definitely helps… In fact I had long held the belief that the memory of my own star-birth lay buried somewhere deep in my unconscious genetic memory, and that all I had to do was to uncover my shadow to find it. And low and behold as it turned out, that is exactly what happened. So you could say that I was already primed for the alchemical path with my innocent belief, and certainly I went blindly into it like a lamb to the slaughter, just as I did as a young child when I used to lie awake at night deliberately trying to imagine ‘nothing’ until I had scared myself witless! In fact such was my naive expectation that I could come to know the universal story as though it was my own that I was prepared to suffer anything that was thrown at me to achieve that dream. Yet the irony is that without such innocent wonder and awe, I might never have made it at all.
