A poem I engraved on a sheet of steel pinned to stone, that describes my own experience of the nature of alchemy.

It was many years after creating this work, that I read about the ‘The Emerald Tablet’. This is a collection of philosophical treatise known as’The Corpus Hermeticum,’ that was said to have been written by the illusive Hermes Tremegistus, possibly as early as 300 AD. Apparently copies of it were often engraved on metal, a coincidence I found utterly inspirational.
