This image portrays better than any words could, just how inspired with love and devotion I felt to something so much greater than myself, something so divine that I was willing to go into the flaming cauldron of fire to seek the truth, or to ‘put myself into the test tube,’ not just for myself, but also for all those other initiates that might want to follow the same hermetic healing path… I needed to transform all those elements of myself that were out of kilter with the whole, in order to find the true inner gold of peace. This is known as the nei tan, or the inner elixir but both inner and outer, (wai tan) are in fact one and the same, and both are described metaphorically as turning base metal into gold.
