So you see I am not talking about turning base metal into gold in the literal sense, but about actually putting myself in the test tube and transforming all those elements of myself that were out of kilter with the harmony of the whole in order to find the true inner gold. This is known as the nei tan, or the inner elixir but both inner and outer, (wai tan) are in fact one and the same.
